The Meaning of Life

  • There are God-centered and Soul-centered views of what the meaning of life is.
  • The God based meaning of life is to fulfill a duty God has given you to the best extent you can.
  • The soul centered view is that "meaning in life comes from relating in a certain way to an immortal, spiritual substance that supervenes on one's body when it is alive and that will forever outlive its death. If one lacks a soul, or if one has a soul but relates to it in the wrong way, then one's life is meaningless" (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy).
  • Naturalism is the belief that there is not a spiritual realm, but life has meaning.
  • Subjectivism is the belief that meaning of life is different to every person based off their mental state.
  •  Objective naturalists believe we can have either correct or incorrect beliefs.

  2. 1. You made some good points here, such as There are God-centered and Soul-centered views of what the meaning of life is. I agree with them because religous gods explain what their meaning of life is and what to do in life.

    2. I disagree with the point you made about Objective naturalists believe we can have either correct or incorrect beliefs. I disagree because I believe there is no wrong belief.

    3. This post made me realize that God is the center for many peoples beliefs. It made me realize this becauseI only thought some people believed in a God but Know i realize their is more people than I thought.
    4. A point about this you may want to think about is activities that make us happy in life. You may want to think about this because activities in life and the people around us make us the happiest in life.
    5. Your post made me want to learn more about God and life around him , because I find it interesting about religions.
